By the summer of 2020, youth experienced a pandemic, extra curricular sanctions, global BLM protests, and a dramatically different pride month. Quarantine Zine was a collaborative project to create community and connection in a time of uncertainty and isolation.
FAM’s artist mentor, Alana Moore invited youth to create their own zine (aka DIY magazine) in a series of workshops and open studio time. Artists who made a zine traded completed zines with their peers to start their own personal zine library.
Zines made by: Charli Brechin (he/they), Dom Little (he/they), Ezra Lucier (he/they/she), Toni Wuttunee (she/her), Arvah Imtiaz (she/her), Ariha Imtiaz (she/her), and Jody Lerat (she/they).
Supplies from Art Placement.
Care packages and workshops were proudly funded by Canadian Roots Exchange’s CREation Community Support Fund.
